The Las Vegas Raiders added to their wide receiver to kick off Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft, as the team selected Tennessee wide receiver Dont'e Thornton with the No.108 overall pick in Round 4.
Thornton is the second receiver the Raiders have drafted, as the team grabbed TCU's Jack Bech with the No.58 overall pick in Round 2 on Friday.
Though Thornton wasn't very productive in college, the 22-year-old possesses elite size at 6-foot-5 and also boasts game-breaking speed. Thornton could be an immediate contributor to Las Vegas' offense, and scouts love the selection from general manager John Spytek.
Raiders draft grades for Dont'e Thornton
Chris Trapasso, CBS Sports: A-
Trapasso: "Nearly 6-foot-5, 205-pound burner with 4.30 speed. And it shows on film. Averaged nearly 22 yards per catch in college. Did play in wide open, vertical-based offense, which helped his numbers, yet he can absolutely rip downfield. Niche type with overall rawness to his game yet adds a seriously dangerous weapon for Geno Smith. Nice complement to Jakobi Meyers and Jack Bech."
Mike Moraitis, The Sporting News: A
Moraitis: "The Raiders already added a wide receiver in this draft in Jack Bech, but they still needed more depth, which makes this a good pick. Thornton brings great size (6-foot-5) that makes him an ideal red-zone target, and his elite speed adds a downfield threat for Las Vegas. Thornton could be the complete package at the next level"
Ostly: "Las Vegas needs more pass-catchers to support star tight end Brock Bowers and, after getting a slot receiver in Round 2 with Jack Bech, get an outside threat in Thornton Jr. here. His downfield speed should add a dynamic vertical element to the Raiders' offense."
