Tigers slugger makes MLB history in massive 9th inning outburst image

The Friday night showdown between the Detroit Tigers and Los Angeles Angels was tied at 1-1 going into the ninth inning. Then, the Tigers offense suddenly came to life.

Detroit scored eight runs in the final frame, including four home runs by three different players in an unreal outburst.

Riley Green started it with a solo home run, then Colt Keith followed suit and Javier Baez hit a two-run home run.

Later in the inning, Greene homered again, this time a three-run shot that put the score at 9-1. Greene's second homer was with two outs.

Greene became the third player in Tigers history to hit multiple home runs in the same inning. However, Greene became the first player in MLB history to hit multiple home runs in the ninth inning.

Greene also had a multi-home run game on April 28 against the Houston Astros, but he had just six home runs all year coming into Friday's game.

Now, he propelled the Tigers to a victory with the go-ahead home run and the final dagger while writing his name in MLB record books in the process.
