The Toronto Blue Jays are off to a 15-16 start. While there is still plenty of season left to play, the team could explore cutting ties with Bo Bichette at the trade deadline.
Bichette is a free agent after the season and is in line for a lucrative contract. He is a two-time All-Star and has led the American League in hits twice. If the Blue Jays' season starts to slip away, Bichette will become a hot name on the trade block. FanSided's Zach Pressnell tabbed the Atlanta Braves as a contender to trade for him.
"It's not a guarantee that Toronto becomes eager to move its starting shortstop this season, especially if the team is contending, but don't be surprised if Bichette ends up on the trade market ahead of the trade deadline," wrote Pressnell. "The Jays still need impact talent around Guerrero Jr. over the long haul, and moving Bichette might be their best shot."
The Braves need a steady force at shortstop. Orlando Arcia was an All-Star in 2023, but has struggled ever since. He is hitting .200 this season. Nick Allen has ended up making most of the starts at shortstop and has actually been fine. However, Bichette is a superstar and could help the Braves reach their true potential.
The Braves' offense features Matt Olson, Marcell Ozuna, Ozzie Albies, Michael Harris II and Austin Riley. They're about to get a shot in the arm when Ronald Acuña Jr. returns as well.

Bichette would help solidify their infield in preparation for a postseason push. Allen has helped steady the shortstop position, but he does not compare to Bichette.
