The 2023 NBA champion Denver Nuggets have enjoyed a successful season in 2024-25, as evidenced by a stellar 42-23 record and current placement as the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.

Denver has steadily remained a top team in the West due to the excellent play of their three-time league MVP Nikola Jokić, as he's contributed an unfathomable 30.0 points, 17.3 rebounds and 13.0 assists on 58.5% shooting from the floor in his last three games, with the Nuggets coming out victorious in two of those contests.

Though Jokić has become one of the most dominant offensive players in the history of the league, concerns still linger regarding the Nuggets' bench production and whether the 2025 NBA Playoffs may end in heartbreak if the 30-year-old Serbian sensation is forced to carry the entire scoring and facilitating load.

In an effort to provide Jokić with more support for the 2025-26 season, recent trade proposals have indicated that the Nuggets' general manager Calvin Booth could reach out to the Minnesota Timberwolves this summer to inquire about a trade for their two-way shooting guard Donte DiVincenzo.

"This team could use another gunner off the bench, someone who would capitalize on open looks coming from Nikola Jokić, Jamal Murray and others," Bleacher Report's Greg Swartz wrote Monday.

To help boost the Nuggets' reserve rotation, Swartz suggests that the franchise pull off a trade for DiVincenzo by letting go of forwards Peyton Watson and Zeke Nnaji.

While letting go of the improving 22-year-old Watson would be difficult for the organization, the potential upside of landing a battle-tested, experienced postseason player with proven three-and-D ability could be monumental for their contention odds in the 2026 postseason.

At 28 years old, the skilled 6-foot-4 guard DiVincenzo is currently contributing 11.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.3 steals for a Timberwolves team looking to avoid the Play-In Tournament as the West's current No. 7 seed. He's also continued to show his worth on the defensive end by posting a 1.0 defensive box plus-minus in 47 appearances for the franchise.

After winning the 2021 NBA title as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks, DiVincenzo made it to the postseason as a member of the Golden State Warriors and New York Knicks before being dealt to the Timberwolves prior to the beginning of this season.

As Minnesota begins to slip further in the standings, he could figure that another change of scenery is in order if his ultimate desire is to win another championship.

If paired with Jokić, DiVincenzo could prove to be an excellent addition if his 39.5% three-point accuracy and 112 defensive rating per 100 possessions this season were to translate to his tenure with the Nuggets.

With his potential acquisition, he'd serve as a great replacement for current Orlando Magic and New Orleans Pelicans guards Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Bruce Brown, who were both integral pieces of Denver's 2023 championship team.
