Newcastle United have been in phenomenal form so far this season as the Magpies are currently flying high in third place in the Premier League 2024/25 standings.
Eddie Howe's team have shown real growth in 2025, with their returning boss confident he can lead them to another UEFA Champions League qualification spot, on the back of ending their historic wait for a trophy in the Carabao Cup final back in March.
Despite having the financial muscle to spend on big-name players, Howe has adopted a careful approach in the transfer market, with his policy on developing talent on Tyneside.
One of the beneficiaries of Howe's tactic has been Italy international Sandro Tonali, who has developed into a key player, despite rumours he wanted a summer return Serie A.
Reports from the Daily Telegraph indicate the 24-year-old is pushing to stay and repay the faith shown in him by Howe and the Newcastle squad.
The former AC Milan man was slapped with a 10-month ban from football after he breached Premier League betting regulations at the start of the 2023/24 season but Howe stuck by his No.8.

Which clubs are chasing Sandro Tonali?
EPL rivals Manchester City were reportedly interested in a move for Tonali as part of Pep Guardiola's plan to replace Kevin De Bruyne next season.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are also rumoured to be monitoring him, but if his stance remains in place, the El Clasico pair could both be left frustrated this summer.
After missing the majority of his debut campaign due to the suspension, Tonali played a key role in guiding Newcastle to their Carabao Cup crown, as the club's first major trophy success in 70 years.
Tonali has featured in 40 club games this season, with five goals scored and three assists, across all competitions.
