The Seattle Seahawks are pretty loaded at cornerback right now. Riq Woolen is playing better than ever on the right boundary, Tre Brown is holding down the left side and Devon Witherspoon is still starring in the slot. They also have strong backup options further down the depth chart. In fact, they felt so comfortable with their depth here that they traded Mike Jackson to the Carolina Panthers for a rookie linebacker they eventually wound up waiving.

In other words, general manager John Schneider won't need to call franchise legend Richard Sherman about a possible return to the NFL any time soon. For whatever it's worth, Sherman does seem interested in getting back in shape. Here's what he shared on Twitter this morning about a run through New York City.

Richard Sherman's original post

While it's clear what Sherman intended here, it also doesn't take much of an imagination for people to see something other than a runner's routine in that outline.

It sounds like some of them found Sherman's mentions. Soon after, he followed up with another post to add context, showing his run was through and around Central Park.

Funny.

As for the possibility of a return to the field, it seems highly unlikely. Sherman has been out of the league since the 2021 season and injuries kept him sidelined for 24 games over his last two years, split between thre San Francisco 49ers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

These days Sherman hosts his own podcast about the NFL, mostly focusing on the Seahawks and the 49ers. He also works as analyst for Amazon for Thursday Night Football games. Tonight's matchup is between the New England Patriots and the New York Jets.
