The Los Angeles Dodgers are expected to be active in the starting pitcher market in free agency. They could potentially land an ace in free agency to bolster their rotation.

While listing potential landing spots for San Francisco Giants ace Blake Snell, Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter named the Dodgers as one of the top landing spots for Snell.

"Still, it wouldn't be the least bit surprising to see the Dodgers make a splash atop the rotation, and Snell fits the type of pitcher they have built their staff around in the past," wrote Reuter.

Spotrac projects Snell to sign a five-year, $131 million deal in free agency. He was an All-Star in 2018 and is a two-time Cy Young Award Winner. He started the 2024 season a little bit slow. In fact, he had a 6.31 ERA going into the All-Star Break. However, in 12 games after the All-Star Break, he had a 1.45 ERA and 103 strikeouts.

The Dodgers should have Tyler Glasnow, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Shohei Ohtani and Clayton Kershaw in the rotation next season. Depending on Kershaw's health, the Dodgers rotation to start the season could be very right-handed dominant. Adding Snell would not only add a southpaw to the mix, but an elite one at that.

Snell was not able to sign the lucrative long-term deal he looked for last season, but after showing he is still a Cy Young caliber pitcher in the second half he could cash in this winter.

Snell is one of many great pitchers on the market. However, he and Corbin Burnes are in a class of their own and should be the most sought-after pitchers in free agency.
