Floyd Mayweather is preparing to take part in his latest exhibition bout, when he will head to London's O2 Arena to face celebrity and rookie boxer Aaron Chalmers.
The fight at the 20,000-capacity venue against Chalmers, who is best known for his role on reality TV show 'Geordie Shore', will be Mayweather's first in the UK.
Mayweather's ability to headline an arena show more than five years after he last fought professionally demonstrates the enduring allure of a sportsman who has repeatedly broken pay-per-view records.
The Sporting News takes a look at Mayweather's career and how he became the sporting icon he is today.

How old is Floyd Mayweather?
Mayweather is 45 and will celebrate his birthday on February 24, a day before he is due to fight Chalmers.
Mayweather followed in his family footsteps by entering the sport of boxing at the age of just seven, earning his first national Golden Gloves championship in 1993 and winning bronze in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.

With the opening bell barely rung on Mayweather's first bout, on October 11, 1996, TV commentators pointed out that the prospect was fighting to honour his father, Floyd, who was imprisoned at the time after being part of illegal drug trafficking in 1993.
Mayweather viciously knocked out fellow newcomer Roberto Apodaca in round two of that fight under the guidance of his uncle, Roger, who would train him until his father left prison after his 14th fight.
Michigan-born Mayweather defended the WBC super-featherweight title eight times after winning it against Genaro Hernandez, proceeding to clean up in the lightweight division, starting with victory over Jose Luis Castillo in 2002 for the WBC and The Ring lightweight titles.
In 2005, Mayweather beat Arturo Gatti to win the WBC super-lightweight title, and he he took down Zab Judah for the IBF and IBO welterweight titles three years later.
The man now known as "Money" also beat Carlos Baldomir for the WBC, IBA, and The Ring welterweight titles in 2005 and, in 2007, knocked out British favourite Ricky Hatton to retain all of his belts.
Between the Baldomir and Hatton fights, Mayweather beat Oscar De La Hoya for the WBC light-middleweight title. In a run from 2010, he beat decorated fighters including Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto, Canelo Alvarez, and Marcos Maidana, then moved to welterweight after becoming WBA, WBC, and The Ring light-middleweight champion.

Most fans had spent much of the latter part of Mayweather's peak years praying for him to take on fellow great Manny Pacquaio, which he did in 2015 — by which time many felt the contest had been diminished by the age of both boxers — to win the WBO welterweight title.
Mayweather initially retired that year after beating Andre Berto but returned two years later to beat UFC champion McGregor via TKO in what was considered one of the most profitable cross-promotional fights of all time.
Since then, the man with a perfect professional record of 50 wins — 27 by knockout — has competed in exhibition bouts against the likes of kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa and YouTuber Logan Paul.
Chalmers has a vast social media profile but has only had one boxing match and has never fought at world level. The question might be whether Mayweather's stardust can still make the spectacle a memorable one in London.
