Kai Asakura makes his UFC debut at UFC 310, challenging the lethal Alexandre Pantoja for the UFC flyweight title.

UFC 310 will be at the T-Mobile Arena on December 7. The early prelims start at 6 p.m. ET, while the prelims are at 8 p.m. ET. The main card starts at 10 p.m. ET, and Alexandre Pantoja and Kai Asakura should make their way to the octagon around 12:30 a.m. ET, depending on how long the undercard fights last.

The co-main event will see Shavkat Rakhmonov vs. Ian Machado Garry in a welterweight title eliminator fight. Rakhmonov (18-0) was initially supposed to fight for gold until champion Belal Muhammad backed out due to injury.
One of the most dangerous strikers in combat sports, Rakhmonov has won all his fights in the octagon via a finish. The Kazakh, ranked third in the welterweight rankings, looks to hold onto the title shot that slipped away from him.
Ranked seventh in the division, Garry (15-0) is unbeaten in eight octagon fights. The Irish fighter believes in his skills and will look to use that confidence to beat Rakhmonov and secure a title shot.
"(It’s) undefeated vs. undefeated. We’ve trained together. We know how good we are. We both respect each other,” Garry said on his YouTube channel via MMAJunkie. “He probably respects me a lot less than I respect him, which is OK … which is OK. That’s the way it should be at that point in our careers. But the truth is, I will take his 0, and I will take that belt.”
UFC 310 fight card
The prelims will start at 8 p.m. ET airing on ESPN+, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, FX, Disney+ & SiriusXM Fight Nation 156.
Former title contenders Anthony Smith and Dominick Reyes face off in the prelims. Smith (38-20) lost against Jon Jones in 2019 for the UFC light heavyweight title. He has gone 6-6 since and is 2-2 in his last four fights. Reyes (13-4) was close to beating Jones for gold in 2020. He went on to lose three straight before taking a year off, winning his return fight in June.
Meanwhile, Movsar Evloev faces former UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling. Ranked fifth in the featherweight rankings, Evloev (18-0) is 7-0 in the octagon, beating Arnold Allen in January. Sterling (24-3) beat Petr Yan via DQ for the bantamweight belt but lost it against Sean O'Malley. "Funk Master" moved to featherweight and beat Calvin Kattar in April.
