Chelsea may not quite be able to crack the UEFA Women's Champions League, but when it comes to domestic supremacy, they are untouched.

Despite the heartbreak of their emphatic 8-2 aggregate defeat to Barcelona in their European semifinal, the Blues responded superbly three days later to secure the Women's Super League title.

Lucy Bronze's solitary goal was enough for a 1-0 win over Manchester United, giving them an unassailable lead at the top over Arsenal and the Red Devils with two games to spare. They will lock horns with United once more in the Women's FA Cup final on May 18.

The Sporting News looks at what Chelsea's latest triumph means to the all-time list of WSL champions.

WSL champions all-time list: Teams with most Women's Super League titles

Chelsea are the most successful side in the Women's Super League with eight titles. They have won the past six championships in a row.

The London club have at least twice as many trophies as any other team in the competition, which began in its current guise in 2011.

Arsenal have won more league titles at the top of the English women's game than any other team, though: the three-time WSL winners have been champions 15 times since 1991, the year that the FA Women's National League structure was founded. However, it is now six years since they got their hands on the WSL trophy.

Which coach has won the most WSL titles?

The most successful coach in WSL history is, by a distance, Emma Hayes. She claimed her seventh league title with Chelsea last season before leaving to take charge of the United States' Women's national team.

The only other coaches to win more than one WSL title are Laura Harvey, who led Arsenal to glory in 2011 and 2012, and Matt Beard, who won the subsequent two championships with Liverpool.
