Brighton & Hove Albion and Newcastle United are both aiming for European football next season, making Sunday's Premier League clash at The Amex a crucial one.

Brighton, fresh off a thrilling 3-2 win over West Ham United in what was their first victory in six games, are looking to keep their hopes of a top-eight finish alive.

On the other hand, fourth-placed Newcastle's 3-0 victory over Ipswich Town on April 26, added another impressive result to their solid form, having come out on top in six of their last seven games in the English top-flight.

After ending a 56-year trophy drought in March with their EFL Cup triumph, the Magpies are now fully focused on securing a Champions League spot. With aspirations of a return to Europe's top competition, they head to Brighton with plenty to prove.

The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch the match, kickoff times and the latest lineup news.

Brighton vs. Newcastle predicted lineups, team news

Brighton & Hove Albion will welcome back Kaoru Mitoma for Sunday's clash with Newcastle, as the attacker is fit enough to start after scoring off the bench in his last two appearances. Joining him in the lineup could be centre-back Igor Julio, who has recovered from a long-term thigh injury that kept him out since January.

However, the Seagulls have concerns over Adam Webster’s availability, with the 30-year-old defender still a doubt due to a lingering thigh issue. Brighton will also be without their leading scorer, Pedro, who remains suspended for the match. Ferdi Kadioglu (toe), Georginio Rutter (ankle), and James Milner (hamstring) all face uncertain returns, with their involvement this season hanging in the balance.

Brighton predicted XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Verbruggen (GK) —  Wieffer, Dunk, Van Hecke, Estupinan — Baleba, Hinshelwood — Minteh, O'Riley, Mitoma — Welbeck.

Injured: Adam Webster (doubtful), Ferdi Kadioglu, Georginio Rutter, James Milner.
Suspended: Pedro.

Newcastle United will be without midfielder Joelinton for their trip to Brighton, as the Brazilian has traveled home for specialist treatment on a knee injury. The Magpies also remain without club captain Jamaal Lascelles, who continues to recover from a serious knee issue sustained at the end of last season.

Defensive options are further limited for Eddie Howe, with Lewis Hall and Matt Targett both unavailable due to ankle and hamstring injuries, respectively. The absences leave Newcastle’s backline even more stretched as they prepare for a tough clash at The Amex.

Newcastle predicted XI (4-3-3, right to left): Pope (GK) — Trippier, Schar, Burn, Livramento — Guimaraes, Tonali, Willock — Murphy, Isak, Barnes.

Injured: Joelinton, Jamaal Lascelles, Hall, Targett.
Suspended: None.
