The Dallas Cowboys had a relatively quiet offseason, but a few big moves could be on the horizon. One shocking move could be trading Trevon Diggs.
The Cowboys were able to land Shavon Revel Jr. in the third round of the NFL Draft. He could have been as good as a first-round pick had it not been for an ACL tear. However, the move could open the door for the team to cut ties with Diggs, who signed a $97 million extension with the Cowboys a few years ago. Last Word on Sports' Anthony Palacios tabbed the Kansas City Chiefs as a trade partner for Diggs.
"After losing L’Jarius Sneed, it was always the anticipation that the secondary wouldn’t be the same, and that could be the case for the safeties department," wrote Palacios. "Since they lost Justin Reid, the only replacement was Mike Edwards, and he’s way past his prime. Diggs won’t make much of a difference, but he has similar experience to Trent McDuffie and could help disrupt the aerial attack."
The Cowboys could face a financial bind soon. They are gearing up to give Micah Parsons a lucrative extension and DaRon Bland is slated to hit free agency after this season.
Diggs has no guarantees beyond this season and carries a $12 million cap hit this season, a $18 million cap hit next year, a $23 million cap hit in 2027 and a $21 million cap hit in 2028. Moving him now could open up room to pay Bland and Parsons.

Diggs has missed 21 games in the past two years. He is a two-time Pro Bowler and former All-Pro. He could give the Chiefs some stability as they look to avenge their Super Bowl loss. He is still 26 years old and could carry decent trade value, despite his injuries.
