Head coach Chris Grassie knew what it took to be a national champion at Marshall. He coached Marshall to a national championship with a 13-2-3 record in 2020.
Four years later, Grassie is back on the sidelines of the Cary, N.C., field with another title in mind. Marshall came into the 2024 tournament as a No. 13 seed and knocked off Furman, N.C. State and No. 12 SMU to reach the semifinals.
Awaiting Marshall is No. 1 Ohio State. The Buckeyes won the Big 10 championship while posting a 14-3-1 record as the best team in the country. It's a one-game semifinal, however. Anything could happen.
Ohio State is looking for its first NCAA championship appearance since 2007.
