The NFL season feels like it just wrapped up a few days ago, but now it's draft night — and that means the biggest college stars are about to hear their names called. The league is set to welcome fresh faces, future superstars, future busts, sleepers, and maybe even the next face of the NFL.
What’s going to happen is still unknown. After the first pick, anything can happen — especially if teams like the Cleveland Browns or New York Giants decide to shake things up by selecting an unexpected player or trading down to a team eager to grab top talent.
One of the biggest questions heading into the draft is about Shedeur Sanders and where he’ll land. Adam Schefter believes Sanders has a wide potential range within the first round.
"It certainly feels like his range ... is three to 21, and I don't like the chances of him going nine,” Adam Schefter said.
A recently released mock draft even suggests Sanders could fall out of the first round entirely, unless the Pittsburgh Steelers decide to take a chance on him. His draft stock has seen a dramatic shift — once considered a potential third overall pick, he now faces the possibility of not hearing his name called on Day 1.
Stephen A. Smith weighed in on his show, sharing a blunt perspective on why teams might be hesitant.

“NFL teams don't want to deal with Shedeur Sanders because of his dad's influence and they 'can't admit it.'” Smith said. “[Shedeur's] not gonna just take instructions ... he's going to challenge your football intellect.”
Sanders was once thought to be rising on draft boards due to his name, but as time passes, the opposite seems to be true. Meanwhile, Deion Sanders has already voiced interest in becoming an NFL head coach if the opportunity arises.
