Rockets-Bucks blockbuster trade idea sends former top-3 picks to Milwaukee for Giannis Antetokounmpo image

The Milwaukee Bucks are going into Game 5 against the Indiana Pacers tonight down 3-1 in the series. On the brink of elimination, Milwaukee could lose in the first round of the NBA Playoffs for the third consecutive season.

With Damian Lillard going down in Game 4 because of his left Achilles injury, it leaves the fanbase with little hope for the rest of the postseason. Due to this injury, Bailey Bassett of Clutch Points has a proposed trade that sends Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Houston Rockets in a deal this offseason.

"Antetokounmpo would be a perfect frontcourt partner for Sengun. The Rockets' center is one of the best passing big men in the NBA, but he lacks on the defensive end, especially when it comes to physicality and rim protection. Antetokounmpo just so happens to be one of the freakiest athletes and a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate. He'd also thrive catching lobs and backdoor cuts from Sengun," Bassett wrote.

This proposed trade sends Antetokounmpo to Houston in exchange for Dillon Brooks, Jabari Smith Jr., Reed Sheppard, Jock Landale, Nate Williams, and four future first-round draft picks.

After finishing the regular season as the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, the Rockets are also down 3-1 in their opening series against the Golden State Warriors. Although they're a young, up-and-coming team in the league, they're still missing a superstar.

Both the Bucks and Rockets are in unique situations that could benefit each other. Houston needs a star to lead their young players, and Milwaukee may need to unload and rebuild their roster. This deal provides the Bucks with several future draft picks and a developing 21-year-old forward in Smith Jr.

The only way Milwaukee makes this trade is if Antetokounmpo would demand a trade after a few disappointing seasons. Both series aren't over yet and could be turned around, but if they both lose, this offseason could become a busy one for both teams.
