The Texas Longhorns have seen a lot of changes since losing to Ohio State in the College Football Playoff. One of them is at the quarterback position with Quinn Ewers going to the NFL and Arch Manning now firmly taking over the QB1 job.
As such, there is plenty of buzz around Manning, and there are already talks of him being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Well, fans hoping that Manning will be their QB in the 2026 NFL Draft might want to cool down on those dreams. ESPN's Field Yates hopped on The Adam Schefter podcast and gave an updated timeline on Manning's possible draft entry.
"The word from people that have been down there visiting Texas for scouting visits has been that they expect Arch to be there for two more seasons," Yates said "Will that prevail? We'll see, but that has been the sentiment that scouts have been gathering when they spend time around the Texas program this past season."
That certainly changes things for potential QB-needy teams that might have had their eyes on Manning next year. It's worth mentioning that Manning has a $6.5 million NIL valuation this season, so staying for another year of college after and making another $6-$7 million isn't a bad idea at all.
Of course, things can change depending on how the season turns out for Manning and Texas, so this will be a story to monitor over the next nine months.
