The PDC’s World Series of Darts is a global series of competitive but non ranked events that take place annually. The current format involves 8 ‘PDC Stars’ vs an invited 8 players from the nation or region* in which the event is being held.
The event has been steadily grown from its beginnings, in 2013, as ad hoc invitational showcase / exhibition events. By 2015 there were enough of these events that a series finals could be added and the World Series of Darts (WSoD) became a global tour in it’s own right.
The current iteration is generally acknowledged as an event full of high class darts as well as highly successful shop window for the PDC’s model of elite darts. The 2025 edition will host at least ten events across Europe, the Middle East and well as in North America and Oceania.

The dominant playing figure, perhaps due to the time period of the events prominence, has been Michael van Gerwen (pictured above). The Dutchman won the first tournament of this series, in 2013 and who is now approaching 20 victories including 5 WSoD Finals.
Events are regularly added, and sometimes dropped, as a showcase in a country or region where darts is seen as popular, surging or where it is beginning to be enjoyed. 2023 saw The Poland Darts Masters added to the roster and prove huge success.
The 2024 event captured even more attention than previously with the starring role played by Luke Littler. The teenage superstar attracted attention. media coverage and audience attendance everywhere he played. His ultimate victory at the World Series of Darts in Amsterdam seemed almost destined.
Dutch, Bahrain, New York, Nordic and Poland Masters events have already been confirmed for 2025 as well as Australian, New Zealand and Finals legs.
