The World Test Championship (WTC) games are set to come in thick and fast with the finalists of the previous cycle, India and Australia acquiring the top positions at the moment. The two sides are currently facing each other in a five-match Test series in Australia.
This gives a chance to other teams to fight for a place in the final at the expense of either one of India and Australia or both.
Although there is a chance to outdo either of the two, it’s going to be a herculean task for the remaining seven teams to challenge from the top two spots.

To date, two editions of the WTC have been held. While New Zealand won in the maiden season in the cycle of 2019 to 2021 beating India in the final, Australia bagged the title in the second cycle of 2021-23. Once again it was India who finished runners-up.
What is the format of the World Test Championship 2023-25
The competition will be played over a span of two years with the final being held in 2025. A total of 68 matches will be played over 27 series in the league stage and finally, the top two teams in the points table will qualify for the final.
Each participant will play a minimum of 12 Test matches with the maximum limit being 22. They will play a maximum of six series with three at home and three away.
