Will the Milwaukee Bucks trade Giannis Antetokounmpo? That question will be asked basically every day over the next few months after another first-round exit by Milwaukee.
There are plenty of possible landing spots for Giannis if the Bucks do decide to trade him away. The Oklahoma City Thunder and Brooklyn Nets are common landing spots.
But, there are some other under-the-radar destinations for Giannis, and one of them is the Toronto Raptors. Is it realistic? Actually, yes.
John Hollinger of The Athletic named the Raptors as one option, so there's that.
Finally, there’s Toronto, where team president Masai Ujiri has been rumored to be scheming ways to get Giannis since roughly forever. The trade equation here seems pretty simple: Toronto’s 2025 lottery pick and Scottie Barnes, plus whatever other draft considerations the Bucks would want to level out the deal. (The Raptors have all their future firsts to put in a trade.)
The Raptors' draft haul makes a Giannis trade very realistic, although it remains to be seen if he wants to play in Canada or not. For some perspective, teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers might not have enough assets in the arsenal to make a legitimate run at the Bucks star, so the options could be limited on the trade market.
Giannis in Toronto would mean he stays in the Eastern Conference and joins an NBA franchise just a few years removed from winning an NBA title, although things look much different since the days of having Kawhi Leonard on the roster.
