If you expected Anthony Edwards' favorite movie to be an action flick of some kind, think again.

It's not "Fast & Furious," nor is it "Paid in Full," Edwards' favorite movie is..."Matlida"...and he's not trolling either. Here's how things went down last night. After the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 103-96 to advance to the second round, Edwards took a victory lap outside Crypto Arena. While walking/running, he told observers: "They said 'Lakers in 5,' and when we was up 3-1, they said 'Lakers in 7.' Go to hell today… Good guys don’t die in this movie, Morris Chestnut died in this movie."

To clarify, Morris Chesnut does not die in "Matilda" because he's not even in the film in the first place (and yes, I Googled to make sure my memory wasn't failing me), but Edwards is still talking about "Matilda" in this exchange. And it's not the first time he's given the film a shoutout. Ahead of the 2023 NBA Draft, the athlete did an interview with Bleacher Report, where he talked about his reasons for loving it.

"Matilda. Because I feel like women are powerful. So, Matilda, I mean she was a very powerful little girl at such a young age. And, I just like to see things like that. When I first seen it, I was like, ‘Yeah…this is the best movie of all time!," he told the publication. "The little girl...she's just the best...I don't even know how to describe it."

Well Anthony Edwards, has certainly earned himself another "Matlida" watch for advancing to the second round.
