Mike Trout had been off to unusually healthy start to the season. The Angels superstar had started each of L.A.'s first 29 games.
But on Wednesday, Trout hurt his knee running through first base. He sat out Thursday, and after the game, manager Ron Washington delivered the bad news.
Trout will be going on the Injured List because of a bone bruise in his left knee.
Washington said Trout "needs some time to rest," according to ESPN.

Trout has nine home runs already this season, but he's only batted .173.
Once the unquestioned best play in baseball, Trout has been crushed by injuries in the latter half of his career.
He played 36 games in 2021, 119 in 2022, 82 in 2023 and 29 last season.

That's more then half the possible games missed by Trout.
The Angels sound optimistic that Trout won't miss too much time with this particular ailment, but at this point, it's hard not to be a bit pessimistic and sad about another Trout injury.
Baseball is better when he's on the field, so hopefully he makes it back soon.
