Formula 1 racing is entering the sixth round of the 2025 world championship. The competition is set to take place at the Miami Autodrome on May 2 - May 3 — continuing its four year tradition of hosting the Grand Prix.
As drivers gear up for the first of three Grand Prix races in the U.S. this year, weather conditions may impact the competition. While Florida is no stranger to hot temperatures, weather forecasts predict that racers may have more to deal with than just other drivers.
Take a look below at expected weather conditions for the 2025 F1 Miami Grand Prix.
Friday: Free Practice 1 and Sprint Qualifying
With qualifying rounds beginning on Friday, competitors can expect the course to be mostly sunny with minimal cloud coverage, according to AccuWeather. The temperature is expected to reach a high of 83 degrees Fahrenheit with wind speeds reaching up to 22 miles per hour.
Saturday: Sprint and Qualifying
As the competition picks up again on Saturday, things get a little more dicey. There is reportedly a 63% chance of rain and 13% chance of thunderstorms. This could impact and even delay the start of the sprint race — which is currently slated for 9:00 AM (PST).
While there is a higher probability of showers, it is predicted that there will only be 1 hour of rain.
Sunday: Race
Race day forecasters are predicting a similar situation to Saturday’s weather. There seems to be a higher chance of rain at 65% for 2 hours. The heat is expected to pick up again and bring in temperatures of 84 degrees Fahrenheit.
The chance of thunderstorms jump to 39%, which could again delay the start times of the race.
