The first round of the 2025 NFL Draft came and went with some big surprises. One of them was Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders not being chosen in the first 32 picks.

Another one was Alabama QB Jalen Milroe not hearing his name called. While Milroe landing in the first round was always a long shot, his invitation to the green room certainly had fans wondering if he would go in the first round.

So, Milroe also waits to see where he ends up. Could it be the QB-needy Pittsburgh Steelers? Do the New Orleans Saints grab Milroe as some sort of Derek Carr insurance?

Vinnie Iyer of Sporting News has Milroe landing with the Miami Dolphins in the third round at No. 98 overall, which would pair him with former Alabama star Tua Tagovailoa.

"The Dolphins might shock some by taking another Tide QB behind Tua Tagovailoa, but this improves the No. 2 situation well and also gives a Jalen Hurts-like contingency to Tua's potential sequel to Carson Wentz."

Milroe played at Alabama during his career and showcased his skills plenty of the big stage, although there have been concerns about how his game will translate to the NFL.

For the Dolphins, they have Tagovailoa locked in as the starter, so drafting Milroe is a wait-and-develop move for them that gives them some added insurance for the injury-plagued Tagovailoa.
