Scottish champions Celtic host Belgium's Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

The hosts have made a solid start this season, losing just once in 19 matches across competitions. They come into the match against Brugge on the back of six consecutive wins, including a 4-1 victory over Hearts in their previous match.

Club Brugge, meanwhile, has had an inconsistent season. But the Belgian champions have started to get their season back on track, winning five of their last six matches.

In the Champions League, Celtic is currently 15th in the standings with two wins, a draw and a loss from their four games. Brugge is 22nd with two wins and two losses.

The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch the match, kickoff times and the latest lineup news.

Celtic vs. Club Brugge predicted lineups, team news

Odin Thiago Holm is the only player expected to miss the match for the hosts. The Celtic midfielder has been sidelined with a calf injury since earlier this month and is likely to only return in December.

German striker Nicolas Kuhn will spearhead the attack and the expectations from him are high given that he has scored 11 goals and made as many assists in the 18 games he has played this season.

Celtic predicted XI (4-3-3, right to left): Schmeichel (GK) — Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Trusty, Taylor — Engels, McGregor, Hatate — Kuhn, Furuhashi, Maeda.

Injured: Holm
Suspended: None

Brugge will hope Christos Tzolis, who scored four goals in the team's last Belgian Pro League match, will continue in the same form against Celtic.

Bjorn Meijer and Gustaf Nilsson will miss the trip due to a thigh and Achilles injury respectively.

Club Brugge predicted XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Mignolet (GK) — Seys, Ordonez, Mechele, De Cuyper — Onyedika, Jashari — Skov Olsen, Vanaken, Tzolis — Jutgla

Injured: Meijer, Nilsson
Suspended: None

Celtic vs. Club Brugge Prediction

Only Borussia Dortmund, in the early rounds of the Champions League season, have managed to get the better of Celtic this season. With the form the Glasgow-outfit is currently in, it is unlikely that Brugge will join Dortmund on that list.

The hosts are expected to pick up all three points against Brugge.

  • Prediction: Celtic 3-1 Club Brugge
