LeBron James only has so much time left in the NBA, believe it or not.
He may opt to spend it somewhere other than the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Athletic reported on Friday that James isn't locked in to sticking in L.A. He's got a player option for 2025-26, and he could choose to use it.
Here's what The Athletic wrote:
"So, might James think about finishing his career elsewhere in pursuit of a fifth ring? When posed that question, both league sources close to James and team sources would not rule that possibility out. And that was before the revealing elimination game."

That's extra intriguing, because James is probably even more likely now to consider departing after the Lakers lost because they had no center to play and gave up a 27-24 night to Rudy Gobert.
On one hand, it'd be surprising to see James leave Luka Doncic so soon into their partnership.
On the other, LeBron hasn't held back before from taking what he feels is the best route for him.
There are teams out there probably more equipped to win a championship next season than the Lakers as presently constructed.
Would anyone of them have space for James?
If they do, then the King might go and find a new crown.
