The Dallas Cowboys have the No. 12 pick in the upcoming National Football League Draft.
We will find out on Thursday if the Cowboys are going to make their first selection there or opt for some sort of trade. If they stick at No. 12, who could the Cowboys bring into the mix? It would make sense to add some sort of weapon for Dak Prescott whether it's a running back or wide receiver. We'll see what happens, but Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer shared that North Dakota State offensive lineman Grey Zabel is a "potential curveball."
"What you need to know: (Tetairoa McMillan) and Texas’s Matthew Golden are both names of interest here, and a few people have told me Michigan CB Will Johnson would be a fit—though Johnson’s got a knee issue that, when added to questions on his long speed, is giving some teams pause (and could cause him to slide a bit)," Breer said. "The name that a couple of people brought up to me here as a potential curveball is North Dakota State OL Grey Zabel.
"Yes, this would be a little early for Zabel. But he’s considered a pick that’s safe like Duke C Graham Barton was a year ago, and Barton had a very solid rookie year for the Buccaneers. Everyone seems to like Zabel, and I’d bet he won’t make it out of the teens, so this isn’t too much of a reach."
He's currently ranked as the No. 2 offensive guard by ESPN and No. 41 overall prospect.
"Zabel started 41 games over five seasons at left tackle, right tackle, left guard and right guard," ESPN's Steve Muench said. "His 9-foot-3 broad jump is outstanding for an interior offensive lineman, and that lower body explosiveness shows up on tape. He fires off the ball, lifts defenders and gets some push in the run game. He is effective at combination blocking and working up to the second level.

"He times his punch well, works his hands inside and moves his feet once he's engaged in pass protection. Zabel mirrors and redirects well. He can recover when he gets caught leaning or out of position. He gives too much ground at times but digs in and fights to anchor. He recognizes and picks up blitzes."
This seems like it would be a pretty big surprise.
