The Blues and Lightning's clash experienced a brief delay on Tuesday after Dylan Holloway appeared to suffer an injury to his throat/neck area.
The 23-year-old forward has enjoyed a successful start to life in the Gateway to the West, recording six points (four goals, two assists) in 12 games in his maiden year in St. Louis. Holloway had spent each of the past two seasons playing for the Oilers.

Dylan Holloway injury update
Holloway was stretchered off the ice late in the first period of the Blues' clash with the Lightning.
With 2:37 left in the first, Holloway absorbed a puck to the throat area after deflecting a shot from Tampa Bay forward Nicholas Paul.
Holloway joined teammate Jordan Kyrou on the ensuing offensive rush, helping keep the puck in Tampa's zone. Holloway strode off the ice once the puck evaded the zone, making it to the bench with 2:15 left in the frame.
About a minute later, medics rushed to Holloway to tend to his neck. He was eventually escorted out of the stadium via stretcher and taken to a hospital for further examination.

The Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli reported that Holloway's airway is "open and unobstructed." He is said to be alert and in stable condition. He'll undergo precautionary scans to ensure he's good to go going forward.
After the game, Blues head coach Drew Bannister said that Holloway was "doing well."
"From what we've heard, he's doing well," Bannister said after the win over the Lightning. "It's a good sign."
Holloway returned to the rink the next day, an excellent sign after the scary scene Tuesday night. There was a mark on his neck from where the puck struck him against the Lightning.

"It got really blurry. I don't really remember coming to the bench. Next thing I know I was next to the ambulance on a stretcher."
