The wait is over — Paige Bueckers is officially the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, and she's headed to the Dallas Wings. Her new teammates are already buzzing with excitement.

Even before draft night, Bueckers was the consensus top pick, and anticipation around her potential move to Dallas had been building for weeks. DiJonai Carrington, who’s set to hit the court with the Wings this season, dropped a subtle but telling comment on Bueckers’ Instagram after UConn’s national championship win: “congratssss tea**ate.” Fans quickly picked up on the hint.

The Wings’ social media team also leaned into the speculation, posting a jersey with the number 5 — Bueckers’ iconic number — just hours before the draft. The caption? “5 hours until a new page.” A clever nod to both her jersey and the fresh chapter she’s about to begin in Dallas.

Now that it's official, the Wings quickly hit social media to welcome one of college basketball’s biggest stars to their roster.

Moments after Bueckers was drafted, Arike Ogunbowale took to X with a message for her: 'yesssir!!! it’s time.'

DiJonai Carrington also shouted Bueckers out, sharing photos of the two together with the hyped caption, 'SAYYY GO WINGSSS.'

NaLyssa Smith joined in on welcoming Bueckers, writing, “LET’S DO IT P5 .. welcome to the Family!”
