The NFL world was waiting on the Minnesota Vikings to make a quarterback move once the team pulled out on the Aaron Rodgers sweepstakes. After all, the Vikings needed a better backup option behind J.J. McCarthy.

Well, the team finally added that with the trade for former Seattle Seahawks signal-caller Sam Howell, who was acquired during the 2025 NFL draft. However, one analyst thinks the Vikings could still do more.

In an article naming some possible landing spots for Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis if he's traded, Last Word on Sports' David Latham named Minnesota as a potential suitor.

"The Vikings have the roster to compete for a Super Bowl if second-year quarterback J.J. McCarthy becomes the real deal," he wrote. "However, the Michigan product missed his entire rookie season to injury, so nobody knows what he brings to the table. Minnesota addressed the QB2 position with the Sam Howell trade, but Will Levis would bring some more competition to the game’s most important position."

Drafted in 2023, the Levis experiment failed spectacularly in 2024, as the Kentucky product was plagued by turnovers and bad decisions that led to him getting benched.

Now that the Titans drafted Cam Ward No. 1 overall, Levis' days in Nashville are no doubt numbered and the expectation is that he'll be traded, although the Titans recently stated that Levis would offer competition for Ward.

Levis did show promise in 2023 and has all the tools to be an effective quarterback in the NFL with his arm talent and mobility. The Vikings have a history of reviving the careers of quarterbacks and head coach Kevin O'Connell could see that being a possible outcome with Levis.

In Minnesota, Levis would compete with Howell for the backup job, but he should be able to beat out Brett Rypien for a roster spot, at least. It's quite conceivable the Vikings will carry three quarterbacks on their 53-man roster given the uncertainty surrounding McCarthy, who the jury is still out on.

Adding Levis, who has two more years left on his $9 million rookie deal, not only provides more depth at quarterback, he could also prove to be a long-term answer at the position if he gets his shot. Levis is just 25 years old.

Considering his stock is in the toilet, it shouldn't cost more than a late-round pick to acquire the Titans signal-caller. At that price, it would be worth taking a flyer on the embattled quarterback.
