Dallas Cowboys quarterback recognizes how hard a responsibility it is to be the face of a franchise, which is the exact scenario Prescott says newly drafted Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders will find himself in likely sooner rather than later.
Minus the negative backlash Sanders has received in the media, Prescott said Sanders will have to dig deep and take the next step toward being the best quarterback he can be as his professional career gets underway.
“It’s a machine,” Prescott told Athlon Sports. “I don’t think it’s fair… but you’ve got to respect and understand the business of that.”
Although Prescott recognizes Sanders' frustration, he says it will fuel him to transform his quarterbacking abilities to the next level.
“This is only gonna make him better,” Prescott said. “He’s had pressure his whole life… so this would be no different."
To add even more insult to injury, Sanders will make considerably less money than if he were a top-two selection.

Regardless, Prescott said fans will eventually warm up to Sanders once the dust settles.
“Whether it’s he say, she say, accuracy talk… it really doesn’t matter,” Prescott said. “You’ve been playing the best you can with the hand you’re dealt.”
Now that Sanders is off to Cleveland, he is no longer worried about the preceding events that led up to his selection.
"I know I’m going to fit in perfectly,” Sanders told NBC Sports. “It’s first getting in, showing the respect to the vets, showing I’m ready to work, show the coaches and have them understand I’m here ready to work, so they can actually understand the real me."
Sanders added him being misunderstood by the outside media is what he hopes makes him a better quarterback.
"That’s what I’m truly thankful to have, is the opportunity for people to see the real me and not see stuff that could be true, or not," Sanders said. "That’s what I’m most excited about being in the building.”
The Browns missed the playoffs this past season, finishing 3-14.
