Who won the Masters 2025? Complete scores, results, highlights as Rory McIlroy completes career Grand Slam at Augusta image

Rory McIlroy has finally done it.

The iconic green jacket had eluded him his whole career — and almost eluded him again on Sunday. McIlroy had a big lead during the final round, but he saw it crumble away until, all of a sudden, he was in way too familiar territory.

It felt like McIlroy was jinxed at Augusta National. No matter what happened, he always found a way to come up short at the Masters. Even this Sunday, he came into the day 12-under and instantly double bogied the first hole. McIlroy battled back, picking up birdies on four of the next nine holes. While he was trying to build his lead, other golfers like Justin Rose and Ludvig Aberg crept up the leaderboard, needing McIlroy to start choking to have a chance.

And they got their wish.

MORE RORY MCILROY:

McIlroy bogeyed No. 11, got a par on No. 12, and then hit it into the water on No. 13, finishing with a double bogey. He then bogeyed No. 15 and seemingly out of nowhere, he was losing by one stroke to Rose. McIlroy bogeyed on Nos. 15 and 17 and just needed to par No. 18 to win the green jacket. Putting had been a challenge for him all day, and it got him again on the final hole of regulation, as he had a bad bogey.

Rose joined McIlroy in the 18th tee box for a playoff hole. Both golfers found the fairway with their first shot and hit incredible approach shots. McIlroy's shot ended up rolling in front of Rose's. The latter had a longer putt and missed it wide right. He made the par and was ready to go to the next playoff hole at No. 10. McIlroy finally made a putt when it mattered, and it was the biggest putt he sunk in a decade.

He finally won his green jacket and completed his golf Grand Slam, becoming just the sixth golfer to accomplish the feat.

Masters final updates, results, highlights from Sunday's Round 4

All times ET.

Round 4

7:18 p.m. -- Rose missed his putt wide right, but made par. McIlroy struggled with putts all round, but made it when it counted. He not only won his first ever Masters, but also becomes the sixth player to be a Grand Slam winner, and has now won at each of the four major tournaments.

7:12 p.m. -- McIlroy and Rose both found the fairway with their drives on the par-4 No. 18. Rose's second shot landed a few feet from the hole, putting the pressure on McIlroy. He responded with an even better approach, with the ball rolling within Rose's.

6:52 p.m. -- McIlroy's bad day of putting continued. He missed the putt, and we go to a playoff. McIlroy and Rose will head to No.18. If the score is tied, they will go to No. 10, and alternate until there is a winner.

6:49 p.m. -- All McIlroy needed was a par on No. 18. He made a solid drive, but his second shot went into the sand. McIlroy was able to get it out of the bunker, and was staring at a medium putt for the green jacket. He had struggled putting this round, and if he missed it, it would force a playoff with Rose.

6:30 p.m. -- McIlroy is trying to lock back in. He had another insane approach, leaving him another short must-make putt. McIlroy stepped off the putt but nailed it and now only needs to par 18 to win the 2025 Masters.

6:27 p.m. -- Patrick Reed shot up the leaderboard, holing out for eagle on No. 17. Look at the impressive shot, stay for Reed's hilarious reaction.

6:18 p.m. -- Aberg bogeyed No. 17. For now, it looks like a two-man race with McIlroy needing to go 1-under over his final two holes to avoid a playoff against Rose.

6:15 p.m. -- Justin Rose's day is done. He birdied 18 to move to 11-under and a current share of the lead. Rose will sit in the clubhouse and watch to see what unfolds and if he did enough shooting a 6-under on the day.

6:06 p.m. -- If McIlroy can pull off a win, people will point to his approach on No. 15 that helped get him there. After DeChambeau left it short in the water, McIlroy put it on the green with a very impressive shot. He missed the eagle attempt, but made a much-needed birdie.

5:56 p.m. -- McIlroy bogeyed No. 14, putting Rose briefly in the lead. Rose bogeyed No. 16. Ludvig Aberg birdied No. 15 and now we have a three-way tie on top of the leaderboard at 10-under.

5:42 p.m. -- For the first time on Sunday, someone is tied with McIlroy. Justin Rose birdied No. 16 and is now tied for the lead.

5:30 p.m. -- It looks like McIlroy was cruising in his final round, but then he found the water on 13. This could be the opening that Rose, Aberg, Scheffler or Reed need to overtake him. McIlroy double bogeyed ad is now only up one stroke through 13.

5:15 p.m. -- Bryson DeChambeau has had a rough final round. With guys like Patrick Reed, Justin Rose and Scottie Scheffler climbing the leaderboard late, DeChambeau is falling.

4:40 p.m. -- Despite McIlroy and Chambeau's leads, this one is far from over. Patrick Reed has birdied four hokles in a row and is now 8-under through nine.

4:15 p.m. -- McIlroy had an absurd shot on the seventh hole. He hit it between two trees and landed the ball a few feet from the hole. McIlroy started laughing at how well the shot ended up.
