Justin Thomas was due.
Very, very due.
The PGA Tour superstar hadn't won a tournament since 2022. And on Sunday at the RBC Heritage, it wasn't Thomas delivering late on the back nine but rather Andrew Novak, who forced a playoff.
But then Thomas stood over a potential tourney-winning putt from 21 feet, played the break just right and sunk it.
"Winning is hard," Thomas told CBS afterward. "It's really, really hard... I stayed patient, stayed positive. I've got a great wife, a great team."
WHAT A WAY TO WIN IT! 🤯

It had been 1,064 days since Thomas last won, according to Golf.com.
Thomas earned this win, having come out on Thursday and shot a 61 to open the tournament.
He slowed down from there but put up mostly clean cards the entire weekend.
Thomas didn't have a single bogey on Sunday.
It was clear in the footage from after the putt went down just how much this meant to Thomas.
He had 15 wins on the PGA Tour before this one, but the three-year drought was something he couldn't quite shake.
"I didn't realize how much I missed winning," Thomas said. "Battling out there was so fun."
And don't let it be lost on anyone that this is a Ryder Cup Year, and Justin Thomas is officially back.
