Kevin Gausman wasn't happy.
The Blue Jays right-hander had just had a nightmare of a third inning. He allowed only two hits, but five walks had helped six runs come across for the Yankees.
Toronto had no choice but to pull Gausman, who kept shouting at the home-plate umpire as he made his way off the field.
And in a classic piece of video footage, the broadcast caught Gausman yelling all the way down the dugout steps.
Except, Gausman didn't walk down the steps. He seemed to not be paying enough attention and instead fell right down them.

That's like the reverse of the classic phrase adding insult to injury. Here, Gausman added injury to insult.
It wasn't how Gausman drew up his day. He knew he'd have to be sharp with Yankees ace Max Fried pitching on the other side.
Instead, Gausman couldn't find the strike zone, felt aggrieved by it and then wound up falling down to end his tough afternoon.
