Jimmy Butler injury update: Warriors star limps to locker room after scary fall vs. Rockets image

The Warriors may have just lost their massive trade deadline acquisition.

Late in the first quarter of Wednesday's playoff game against the Rockets, Jimmy Butler was undercut by Amen Thompson as he jumped for a rebound and took a nasty fall. He landed on his tailbone and was writhing on the floor.

The guard eventually got to his feet, but he limped to the locker room in obvious pain. He has not returned to the game.

Jimmy Butler injury update

Butler suffered a pelvic contusion and was ruled out for the remainder of the game in the second quarter.

He was injured when Thompson was tripped and fell into Butler while the Warriors star was in mid-air. The six-time All-Star appeared to land directly on his tailbone.

Butler played 42 minutes in Game 1 of the first-round series with Houston. The Warriors can ill-afford to have him miss significant time if they hope to make a deep playoff run.
