The Boston Red Sox have had a somewhat successful offseason, but they could do with a few more moves to have the legendary offseason they promised. And with this recent report, they could do that. According to MLB Tonight, the San Diego Padres have reportedly put star pitcher Michael King up on the trade block.
This past season, King was one of the most dominant pitchers in the league. He finished with a 13-9 record, a 2.95 ERA, 201 strikeouts, and a WHIP of 1.192. He also was part of an exclusive club being one of four pitchers to have a sub-three ERA with 200+ K’s.
The Sox have already got a good rotation, and with the additions of superstar ace Garrett Crochet and veteran star ace Walker Buehler, it’s even better. If they could add King, they would have arguably the best in the MLB.
Crochet, King, Tanner Houck, Brayan Bello and Walker Buehler would definitely be the best rotation in the AL East, and probably the American League.
Hopefully the Padres don’t ask for too much, as this could be the perfect trade opportunity for the Red Sox, and they better heavily consider it if true.
