The top two scoring offenses in the country will clash on Friday as No. 1 Northwestern takes on Florida in the semifinals of the NCAA women's lacrosse tournament. The Wildcats are seeking a second consecutive national championship after beating Boston College in last year's final matchup.
Northwestern is led by all-time NCAA women's lacrosse scoring leader Izzy Scane, who broke Charlotte North's record in the second round of the tournament with her 359th career goal. The Wildcats beat Penn, 20-7, in the quarterfinals behind four goals each from Scane, Erin Coykendall and Lindsey Frank as well as five goals from sophomore Madison Taylor.

The unseeded Gators upset No. 4 Maryland, 15-9, in the quarterfinals. Maggi Hall scored six goals and tacked on one assist, and Madison Waters, Emily Heller and Danielle Pavinelli had two goals apiece. Goalkeeper Elyse Finnelle made 10 saves in the win.
Florida will have to stop the trio of Scane, Taylor and Coykendall if it wants to have a chance at the national title. Northwestern just has to keep doing what it does best as the top team in the nation to punch its ticket.
