Predicting the entire first round of the NFL Draft might be harder than having a perfect bracket in March Madness, as it seems impossible to be that accurate. However, every year, fans gravitate towards NFL Mock Drafts as they think about the possibility of them landing a certain player for their future. Now, with the NFL Draft just a day away, fans are becoming impatient as they want the intel on who their team may land.
Now with ESPN, NFL insider Peter Schrager recently just dropped his first round NFL Mock Draft, which he based on what he’s heard from his sources around the NFL. While picks such as Cam Ward going first overall to the Tennessee Titans seem like sure things, a majority of the picks in this draft could go in a multitude of ways.
Early in this draft process, Michigan Wolverines star Mason Graham was expected to be a top-five selection in this class. Graham was named an All-American in 2024 and helped play a big part on Michigan’s defensive line in their National Championship run the season prior. However, Schrager’s mock draft has the star falling not just out of the top five, but outside the top ten.
According to Schrager’s mock, he has the Miami Dolphins selecting Graham 13th overall, as he wouldn’t even be the first defensive tackle off the board with Ole Miss’ Walter Nolen being mocked 11th to the San Francisco 49ers. Here’s what Schrager had to say about the pick:
“Graham has been viewed as a likely top-five pick for the past few months, and he could still go there. If he falls to No. 13, this is a nice win for Miami, who would be getting a Day 1 culture changer and a can't-miss prospect.” - Peter Schrager, ESPN
As mentioned, there’s no telling what could happen in the draft. In addition to Graham’s fall, Schrager also has Michigan standout Will Johnson falling to 28th after Johnson was expected to be a top ten pick earlier in this process. However, only time will tell, but most mock drafts seem to predict Graham will at least fall outside the top five now.
