Last time out, the Flyers (5-0) breezed to a 21-point demolition of New Mexico State. Senior forward Nate Santos — a member of the Atlantic 10 Preseason First Team — scored a season-high 23 points in the win.
Including Santos, Dayton has five players averaging at least nine points per game, balanced scoring indicative of a deep roster that made the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament a year ago.
The Tar Heels (4-1) rolled to an 18-point victory over Hawaii in a tune-up for the Maui Invitational on Friday. Senior guard RJ Davis, a preseason All-American, poured in a game-high 18 points.
North Carolina's only loss on the season came in a three-point defeat on the road against No. 1 Kansas.
The winner of this game will advance in the winner's bracket to play either Auburn or Iowa State; the loser of each game will meet on the loser's side of the bracket.
