In a bold move that is shaking up the SEC, MiLaysia Fulwiley has officially committed to LSU, making the highly talented guard one of the newest faces in Baton Rouge.
Fulwiley, who has already made a name for herself as a standout at South Carolina, took to Instagram with a graphic of her in purple and gold, captioning it “Geaux Tigers 💜💛” to confirm her new home.

Her commitment adds fuel to the growing rivalry between LSU and South Carolina. While South Carolina has dominated the series historically, Kim Mulkey's LSU has proven itself as a force since she took over, securing its first NCAA title in 2023 and reaching the Elite Eight in the last two seasons.
MORE: MiLaysia Fulwiley’s LSU commitment has everyone asking the same question
While Fulwiley was at South Carolina, she helped the Gamecocks reach back-to-back NCAA championship appearances, securing a national title in her freshman year and falling short to UConn in her sophomore campaign.
Over two seasons, she collected an impressive array of accolades: SEC Tournament MVP, SEC All-Freshman Team and a South Carolina record for most three-pointers in an NCAA Tournament game. She averaged 11.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.6 steals in under 19 minutes per game across both seasons.
While LSU already boasts incredible guard talent, including Flau’jae Johnson and Mikaylah Williams, Fulwiley brings something unique to the table—a shot-creating ability and a high-energy style that fits with coach Mulkey’s fast-paced, aggressive system. With LSU losing standout forward Aneesah Morrow, Fulwiley’s addition could fill an essential role in reshaping the Tigers' offensive identity.

This commitment is especially crucial as Mulkey continues to reload LSU’s roster with top-tier talent. Already, the Tigers have secured top-10 recruits like Grace Knox and ZaKiyah Johnson, along with five-star Divine Bourrage and four-star Isabella Hines.
The big question now is: With Fulwiley joining the fold, can LSU be a contender for a national title in 2026?
