Former California Golden Bears transfer wing Andrej Stojakovic could end his recruitment any day after visiting Champaign within the last 24 hours.
Stojakovic arrived to campus and completed his visit Tuesday. Now, his recruiting race may be coming to a frenetic end.
Illinois appears to be a priority target for the son of NBA legend and Hall of Famer Peja Stojakovic.
According to national basketball analyst Travis Branham, the Illini might land their most essential piece before the transfer portal window is slammed shut.
"Over the weekend, this recruitment was popping off," Branham said on "The College Basketball Show." "You had schools including Illinois, Florida, North Carolina, Clemson and Michigan all trying to get involved in this situation. He was on campus at Illinois on Tuesday, and by all means, it sounds like Illinois is the team to beat. They are in the driver's seat, and frankly, it would not surprise me to see him make a commitment before he leaves campus."
This would complete a huge start to the week for Brad Underwood and Co. as they landed yet another Balkan prospect Tuesday, according to ESPN's Jonathan Givony, in point guard Mihailo Petrovic.

Givony said he was intrigued by the amount of foreign talent Underwood is assembling.
"Illinois is assembling a Balkan dream team this off-season, with the Serbian Petrovic, Croatian twins Zvonimir and Tomislav Ivisic, and Montenegrin David Mirkovic," Givony wrote. "Will be fun to see how it comes together."
Even more interestingly enough, college basketball content creator Ant Wright is already receiving intel regarding a way-too-early season outlook, and it's promising. A screenshot of a DM from an anonymous NBA scout was sent by Wright, which should get the Fighting Illini fanbase primed for November.
"I think the Big Ten title has to come through Champaign," the scout wrote.
Either way, the Illini aren't quite done yet. An argument could be made that the seed is finally just being planted with a lot of room to grow.
Nevertheless, the week's final stretch should prove to be interesting in an already productive off-season.
