The New York Jets will pay Justin Fields $40 million across the next two seasons to be their starting quarterback.
They might've gotten a steal.

If Fields is a better thrower, he'll be a dynamic star for the Jets.
His arm has been the biggest question in his young NFL career. He runs with the football like a superstar running back.
Fields already appeared to have made some progress in Pittsburgh last season, going 4-2 in six starts that included some flashes of throwing potential.
It makes sense that he could still have another step to take. He hasn't been in the league nearly long enough to be deemed a bust.
The Jets could use a true dual-threat season out of Fields to wash the taste of a bad Aaron Rodgers era from their mouths.
Fields could expand his future value, too, by turning into a better passer.
And if he has really made those gains, the entire NFL needs to watch out.
