Startling details leave former Penn State TE Tyler Warren part of NFL draft prank call cycle image

Shedeur Sanders has been the hot topic in the aftermath of the NFL draft. From getting slid to the fifth round to getting prank-called by Jax Ulbrich, the son of Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, the story has taken another strange twist.

Sanders wasn't the only player who was caught with the prank call bug. Former Penn State tight end Tyler Warren was another notable victim, according to Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz.

"Penn State TE Tyler Warren was also prank called during the draft, receiving a call when the Jets were on the clock at No. 7. I’m told Warren’s camp believes it was the same number and/or area code involved in the Shedeur Sanders prank on Friday night. NFL teams have access to these numbers, and it’s clear someone passed it along — whether to family or friends. Just so cruel."

Whether the prank calls come to a stop remains to be seen, but they appear to be getting out of hand rather quickly.

Schultz then provided a follow-up, although more details are still forthcoming.

Warren enjoyed a great career at Penn State, helping lead his team to an Orange Bowl berth in January.

"The NFL now says it is reviewing a prank call that targeted tight end Tyler Warren during the draft," Schultz wrote.

Warren has yet to comment publicly about the call as he likely has much bigger priorities ahead after being selected 14th overall by the Indianapolis Colts.

For now, what happens next is anyone's guess.
