What is The Diamond League?

The Diamond League was created in 2010 as a replacement for the IAAF Golden League, which had been held annually since 1998. Sitting in the top tier of the World Athletics one-day meet competitions, the league holds 15 invitational meetings every year in locations around the world.

Every year, athletes compete in "Diamond Disciplines" to earn points and qualify for a final event. The top athletes in each discipline then compete in the season finale for the Diamond League title and Diamond Trophy.

Throughout the years, the track and field league has been known to feature many of the top talents in the world.
