Despite all the fuss about Inter Miami being invited to participate in the first 32-team Club World Cup taking place next summer, there's another American soccer side who'll be involved.
Seattle Sounders were the 2022 CONCACAF Champions League winners, which earned them a spot in the experimental format that replicates international World Cups from 1998 until 2022.
With two MLS Cups and a Supporters Shield also to their name, the West Coast outfit will be looking to upset a few bigger names on home soil in 2025.
So, who did they draw in the group stage? Here's an overview.

Seattle Sounders' Club World Cup opponents
With the draw completed on December 7, Seattle Sounders now know their three group-stage opponents in Group B. And it's a tricky selection.
- Paris Saint-Germain (France)
- Atletico Madrid (Spain)
- Botafogo (Brazil)
Who will Seattle Sounders face in the knockouts?
If they cause a huge surprise and win their group, Seattle will face the runners-up of Group A in the Round of 16. If they qualify in second place in Group B, they will take on the Group A winners in that first knockout round.
That means they could play one of Palmeiras, Porto, Al Ahly, or MLS rivals Inter Miami.
Which pot were Seattle Sounders in?
They were in Pot 4 of 4. This means they could not face Urawa Red Diamonds, Al Ain, Hope of Tunis, Mamelodi Sundowns, Pachuca, Auckland City or fellow MLS side Inter Miami in their first three fixtures.
How do Club World Cup pots work?
Each group at the Club World Cup comprises one team from Pot 1, a team from Pot 2, one from Pot 3 and one from Pot 4.
With the Sounders being in Pot 4, we know they'll face one team each from 1, 2 and 3.
