Are you new to betting on NASCAR? Have no fear, we've got Daytona 500 odds, props, and predictions ahead of NASCAR's biggest race, which also happens to be the first of the new Cup Series season on Sunday.

If any sport can benefit from legal online sports betting, NASCAR should be at the top of the list. Mainstream interest in the sport peaked and then plummeted years ago, but having some skin in the game can enhance your viewing pleasure of any race.

The Daytona 500 can be a crapshoot due to the super-speedway style of racing -- drafting with teammates or trusted drivers is a requisite for success -- and the event is known for producing its fair share of multi-car wrecks and longshot winners.

With no football on Sunday, and for a long time to come, check out Daytona 500 odds, props, and predictions and see if NASCAR might be right for you.

2024 Daytona 500 odds: Winner bets to consider

You see that Denny Hamlin is the betting favorite to win the Daytona 500. Hamlin, who drives for Joe Gibbs Racing, has won just about everything meaningful in NASCAR except a Cup Series title. Hamlin, who recently won the Clash at the Coliseum, has captured the Daytona 500 victory on three occasions at odds of +1000 each time.

Ford driver Brad Keselowski is worth a look at +1200 odds. He's never won the Daytona 500, but his super-speedway resume includes six wins at Talladega. That's the most of any active driver.

Scrolling down the oddsboard, Bubba Wallace is also a driver to consider here. Wallace has the best average finish in Daytona races (for drivers with more than five career starts) at 12.9. Wallace nearly captured his first Daytona 500 victory in 2022 before losing by a nose to Austin Cindric. Trust me, this one hurt if you wagered on Wallace.

Looking for a longer shot to win? Check out Austin Dillon (+3000). The Richard Childress Racing driver has two career wins at Daytona including the 2018 Daytona 500 in the No. 3 Chevrolet made famous by Dale Earnhardt.

What prop bets can you make on the Daytona 500?

Top-rated sportsbooks typically offer driver props and manufacturer props for NASCAR races.

Daytona 500 driver props

These can come in the form of head-to-head driver matchups or a group of drivers.

Check out these Daytona 500 head-to-head driver props from FanDuel.

  • Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (-126)
  • Michael McDowell (-102)

This is a matchup featuring recent Daytona 500 winners. Stenhouse, the defending Daytona 500 champion, is favored over McDowell. The driver you bet on just needs to finish ahead of his competitor to cash the ticket.

  • William Byron (+210)
  • Bubba Wallace (+240)
  • Martin Truex Jr. (+290)
  • Erik Jones (+290)

We like Wallace to emerge as the highest-finishing driver in the group. That's a nice price with only 10% of the starting field involved.
