The 2024 NCAA national champions have been crowned, and they're repping navy and white.

That's right, after a decade-long drought, the Penn State Nittany Lions are back atop the mountain with their eighth national title.

In a back-and-forth matchup against Louisville on their home court, Penn State remained steady the whole way through. The Nittany Lions jumped ahead quickly and claimed the first set 25-23, but the Cardinals didn't go down without a fight. With their backs against the wall and without star outside hitter Anna DeBeer, Louisville stood their ground in the second set, stealing it 34-32.

After that, Penn State's momentum continued to snowball. Jess Mruzik turned on her third-set magic and dominated for her team — a common occurrence for Penn State. The outside hitter carried the squad with a total of 29 kills, and her teammate Camryn Hannah followed suit with 19. Outside hitter Caroline Jurevicius and middle Taylor Trammel were also forces in the front row.

Penn State's win sends Louisville home just short for the second time in three years, but the Cards have plenty to be proud of. Despite not being able to play in her last game, hometown hero DeBeer, Elena Scott and the rest of the Louisville squad have marked another impressive season.

The Nittany Lions have now made history in more ways than one, raising their eighth trophy in front of a record crowd of 21,860 fans and with Katie Schumacher-Cawley becoming the first female head coach to win a title.
