A deciding third game takes place Saturday morning in Austin, Texas, between two Top 10 ranked softball squads.
LSU and Texas duel it out in the rubber match of the two teams' Southeastern Conference series. The Longhorns took the opening game Thursday, 7-3, on a walk-off grand slam by Reese Atwood in the bottom of the seventh. But LSU bounced back on Friday with a 6-1 win as pitchers Tatum Clopton and Sydney Berzon combined to hold Texas to four hits.

POSTGAME
- LSU's Maci Bergeron went 2-for-4. McKenzie Redoutey and Danieca Coffey also drove in a pair of runs apiece for the Tigers.
- For Texas, Kayden Henry went 2-for-4 including the game-tying RBI in the bottom of the seventh and then scoring the game-winning run on Mia Scott's walk-off RBI single. Reese Atwood also went 2-for-2 with a homer for the Longhorns.
- Texas pitcher Teagan Kavan improved to 20-3 on the season by throwing a complete-game six-hitter, giving up four earned runs and striking out two.
SEVENTH INNING
- TEXAS WINS. After a review, it was determined that Texas' Mia Scott beat out the grounder to first as it's ruled a single, and Kayden Henry scores the game-winning run as Texas scores two runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to win a hotly contested SEC series from the Tigers. (Texas, 6-5 | F)
- Kayden Henry steals second; then the next batter, Mia Scott, apparently beats out a ground ball as Henry scores. We're going to a review. If Texas gets the call, they win.
- TEXAS TIES IT UP. WOW, what a ballgame. Down to their last out, the Longhorns respond as Kayden Henry singles to right to bring home Leighann Goode. We are now square. (5-5 | B7)
- LSU gets the next two batters out, and Texas now has the tying run on third with one out to play with.
- Leighann Goode leads off the bottom of the seventh by hitting a double to right center. Texas has the tying run in scoring position with nobody out.
- Texas gets out of the inning trailing by one. To the bottom of the seventh now, and Sydney Berzon comes into the circle for LSU looking to close out this series. (LSU, 5-4 | B7)
- LSU has runners on first and second with two outs, seeking to add insurance.
- LSU TAKES THE LEAD. Jalia Lassiter drives in the go-ahead run on a grounder to second as Sierra Daniel crosses home plate. Tigers back in front. (LSU, 5-4 | T7)
- TIE GAME. LSU evens things up as Danieca Coffey bounces a single up the middle to score Jadyn Laneaux. Tigers have runners at the corners, still with nobody out. (4-4 | T7)

SIXTH INNING
- LSU gets out of the inning. Tigers need one run to tie things up going to the seventh.
- HOME RUN TEXAS. The Longhorns retake the lead in dramatic fashion as Joley Mitchell, with two on and two out, slams a ball over the left-field fence for a three-RBI clout. LSU making a pitching change. (Texas, 4-3 | B6)
- Texas has runners on first and second with two out in the inning.
- Texas gets out of the top of the sixth without any more damage. Longhorns have work to do, trailing by two in the last half of the inning.
- HOME RUN LSU. One out in the top of the sixth, Maci Bergeron singles, bringing up McKenzie Redoutey, who launches a two-run shot into right center to put the Bayou Bengals in front. (LSU, 3-1 | T6)
FIFTH INNING
- Danieca Coffey beats out a double play ball with one out, extending the inning and allowing Maddox McKee to score the tying run. Texas then gets out of the inning without any further damage. (1-1 | B5)
- LSU has something cooking in the top of the inning. Maddox McKee got hit by a pitch leading off, then goes to second on a wild pitch. McKee then goes to third on a Texas error, which puts another runner at first - still with nobody out.
- Top of the fifth we go in Austin.
FOURTH INNING
- Texas strands runners on second and third to end the fourth.
- Texas has runners on first and second with one out in the bottom of the inning.
- LSU led off the top of the fourth with a base hit, but it was erased when Texas 2B Kaydee Bennett turns a double play. Then Bennett fields another ground ball to end the inning. (Texas, 1-0 | B4)
THIRD INNING
- LSU P Jayden Heavener retires the side in order in the bottom of the third. Texas still up a run to the fourth.
