The drama between Donald Trump and Taylor Swift continues, even at the White House. On Monday, April 28, the 47th president welcomed the Philadelphia Eagles following their 2025 Super Bowl win against the Kansas City Chiefs.
While the “Cruel Summer” songstress was not in attendance, that didn’t stop the 45th president from making a comment about her. During his speech, fans believed that his not so subtle remark was unnecessary.
"It was an incredible game. A little surprising, but right from the beginning of the first quarter of the big game, which I was there — I watched in person," Trump noted. "I was there along with Taylor Swift, how did that work out? How did that one work out?"
Swifties flocked to social media to share their disapproval of his speech. One user wrote, “Again and again and again. Trump begging for Taylor Swift’s attention. Absolutely pathetic,” while another X user claimed, “Trump is so obsessed with Taylor Swift.”
Swift began her romance with Travis Kelce, tight end of the Chiefs, in 2023. Throughout their relationship, the songstress has been in attendance of multiple football games -- which hasn’t always been met with excitement. During the most recent Super Bowl, a viral clip of the singer showed onlookers booing her.
After the game, the president took to social media to share his thoughts saying, “The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!”
However, Trump and Swift’s beef started prior to her romance with Kelce. In 2018, the songstress voiced her support for a democratic nominee. When asked about the endorsement, Trump explained to reporters, “I’m sure Taylor Swift doesn’t know anything about [Blackburn],” adding, “I like Taylor’s music about 25% less now, OK?”
