The drama is just beginning in the Cleveland Browns' quarterback picture.
The overcrowded scene currently includes Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders.
Flacco and Pickett are under contract just for 2025. Gabriel and Sanders each got their four-year rookie deals.
That's not even to mention Deshaun Watson, who has multiple years remaining on his mega deal but won't play at all in 2025 due to injury.
The Athletic's Browns beat reporter, Zac Jackson, has broken down this quarterback room and has one surprising take:
The only safe one is Gabriel.

Jackson backs up that sentiment with logic.
Given the short-term commitment to Pickett and Flacco, he writes, they'd be easy enough to get rid of.
And then Gabriel's status as a third-round pick compared to Sanders in the fifth suggests the front office would rather have Gabriel's long-term projection.
They probably won't end up cutting Sanders, either, but as the least-investment among the group of four, he could get the short straw, too.
Just whatever happens, count on Gabriel being with the Browns when Week 1 rolls around.
