After taking North Dakota State offensive lineman Grey Zabel (No. 18), South Carolina safety Nick Emmanwori (No. 35), Miami tight end Elijah Arroyo (No. 50), Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe (No. 92), Notre Dame defensive end Rylie Mills (No. 142) and Colorado State wide receiver Tory Horton (No. 166) with their first six picks, the Seattle Seahawks used pick No. 175 on Alabama tight end Robbie Ouzts.
Ouzts, 22, played basketball and was a three-star football recruit at Rock Hill High School in Rock Hill, South Carolina, before committing to the University of Alabama during his senior season.
Over four seasons with the Crimson Tide, Ouzts caught just 16 passes for 192 yards and three touchdowns. However, he was seen as a great blocker during his collegiate career.
That's probably why the Seahawks are listing Ouzts as a fullback.
The Seahawks are listing Robbie Ouzts (6'3, 274), a college TE, as a fullback. At his intro news conference, Klint Kubiak told us he planned on using a fullback. Team recently switched Brady Russell to fullback but hey, competition is everything. #ChasingEdges

Seattle changed offensive coordinators this offseason, replacing Ryan Grubbs with Klint Kubiak. Last season, Kubiak had multiple backs in the backfield 25% of the time with the New Orleans Saints, so he'll likely want to continue that in his new gig.

The Seahawks used multiple backs on less than 5% of their offensive plays in 2024, so this will be a change. Ouzts will have to beat out Russell, who is also moving to fullback for the first time in his career, but he has the talent, vision and strength to win the battle and earn the job.
Having a fullback in front of Kenneth Walker III and Zach Charbonnet could make an already impressive duo even better. A strong running game and solid last blocker in the pass game will make life much easier for new Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold as well, as he has expectations for the first time since being a first-round pick in 2018.
